It went hot crocheting the weather blanket but I just came close again. If you have no idea what this is about, you can read it in the Pattern to Crochet a Weather Blanket.
23rd Week of Crocheting a Weather Blanket
This week it got warm and warmer again, but not enough for the last colour. At Saturday I just had been a whisker away from pink with 32 degrees. At the end of the week a thunder storm caused a cool-down, but also a bit of variety into the pattern.

Projection for the Weather Blanket
My weather blanket weighs now 2211g and is 122cm long. After 161 days we have a factor of 2.3 and that gives 5085g and 281cm for the whole weather blanket. Scary what the summer does with the projection! 😉 As I said, that will scale down in fall again.

Sweating when crocheting a weather blanket
So it is quite warm for some time and the weather blanket is already very large. That´s why some of us are starting to sweat more and more often when crocheting the weather blanket. Fortunately I can´t say that too, because even though cotton is heavier, it is so well air conditioned. You really can´t get sweat when crocheting, because it is rather cool on the legs. But for anyone who has problems crocheting the weather blanket, because it is to warm, I have a few tips:
- Crochet sitting at the table and leave the blanket on the table.
- Sit on a chair with high armrests and place the blanket over them.
- Put a footbank or a small table, as it is used for breakfast in bed, over your lap and put the blanket on it.
- Crochet late in the evening in shorts outdoors.
- Get locked up in a cold store and crochet there! 😉
I hope the tips will help you over the hot days!
Hands-on-task!
