Crochet Pattern: Amigurumi – Crochet Baby Octopus “Udwi”
For the amigrumi baby octopus we first crochet the body from top down. Then we just crochet the arms into the edge of stitches and then your crochet baby octopus is already finished.
Crochet Baby Octopus Body (1x)
The body for the baby octopus we crochet from top down in spiral rounds with only double crochet stitches (UK!).
- blue:
- 1st round: magic ring + 6 double crochet stitches (UK!) = 6 stitches
- 2nd round: double every stitch = 12 stitches
- 3rd round: double every 2nd stitch = 18 stitches
- 4th round: double every 3rd stitch = 24 stitches
- 5th round: double every 4th stitch = 30 stitches
- 6th – 11th round: (= 6 rounds) each stitch one stitch = 30 stitches
- 12th round: crochet together every 4th and 5th stitch = 24 stitches
- Attach Safety Eyes, position: after the 10th round, 5 stitches distance
- 13th round: stitch into back loop only, crochet together every 3rd and 4th stitch = 18 stitches
- 14th round: crochet together every 2nd and 3rd stitch = 12 stitches
- fill and stuff completely
- 15th round: crochet together every 1st and 2nd stitch = 6 stitches
- cut the thread generous, pull off the loop, close remaining opening, secure and weave in the thread end
Crochet Baby Octopus Arms (1x)
The arms for the baby octopus we just crochet in one round into the edge of stitches at the body. Hold the body upside down, so the top side points downwards. Additional you start exactly left to the transition of the beginning of the round.
- blue:
- 1st round:
- hold body upside down, into the edge of stitches left from the transition of the beginning of the round
- 1 slip stitch, 1 lifting-chain stitch
- arm (repeat 8x):
- cut the thread, pull off the loop, secure and weave in the thread end
Finish Baby Octopus
This way your crochet baby octopus is already finished and you can decorate it. I used fabric paint to make some glitter dots. But you can also sew on beads, embroider dots or just let it like it is.
With a hanger you can use your crochet baby octopus also for a mobile or as a key chain charm.
Congratulation for your self crocheted baby octopus! Have fun with it and please leave a picture of your work in the comments below!
